My two best picks for Boss Ladies in Dramas are…

Iron Ladies ( 2018) Taiwanese Drama:
The story revolves around Zhou Kai Ting (Aviis Zhong) Su Can (Ben Wu) and her two best friends. They are iron ladies in the business world. They work hard and try to make relationships work even harder. There’s love, lust, and tears for these three ladies in their 30’s who can’t seem to get a break from the cruel world around them. That is until they learn to love themselves and genuinely learn to love again.

Side note: the two side stories of her besties are worth the drama! It is honestly a rollercoaster of fun, sadness, and ends with justice.

Why I love this?

The story is well told and very important in my eyes. Women struggle, even the most successful women who seem to have it all. It shares a story about how everyone loves differently. There is no forced female role but rather an open acceptance of who they are even if they are flawed. I especially love that these ladies were not afraid to initiate love/affection first. I also really like Ben Wu’s character, and the drama even brings up the issue of age gaps and how it can affect relationships based on societal view and personal views of how we should live and with whom. Overall, I think this drama introduces and examines some controversial and taboo issues.

Is it a happy ending?

Yes, after everything that has been said and done, it’s a whole lot of trouble and that turns into something beautiful for these three ladies and their partners and future lovers? At first, I was like what is this ending, but then it hit me, oh that’s right they are making choices that work for them and what they need not what is expected of them to be and do. So, I loved that.

Lastly, Our Glamorous Times (2018) Chinese Drama:
Lin Qian (Zanilia Zhao) meets a soldier Li Zhi Cheng ( Kim Han) under unusual circumstances that change her life but not in the way you may think. This Girl Boss manages to overcome many obstacles and fights for her dreams, never letting anyone mess with her or visions. She is a headstrong lovable character that any Girl boss can relate.
Side note: there are multiple side romance stories, but they’re not dull.

Why should I watch this?

The characters you hate, you will love and cheer for in the end. There is a lot of fashion and romance in this drama. But moreover anything, this is a drama where the female lead is thoroughly supported and loved when it comes to her dreams. Never once, do we see male characters trying to control or dominate their love interest but rather encourage them and understand them better. Li Zhi Cheng character’s shined as his love blossomed in this drama!

Why I love this?

I love the female character; she is soft and strong at the same time. She works really hard to make her dreams come true. The friendship between the female lead and her best friends are goals. I love how this drama moves and has action in each episode. I also like how understanding the male lead is and doesn’t force an agenda on the female lead. Lastly, her strength and career are very admirable. And the side stories are pretty great too. I think the main female lead in this drama is a good reflection of our modern ladies who are independent, strong-minded, and have dreams, goals, and aspirations of their own. Who work their butt off to achieve success.

I recently watched these dramas, and they left a very special place in my heart. They are the drama’s that revolve around love where both partners learn to accept, understand, and support one another, and it’s truly the beauty of love. These Boss ladies never gave up their dreams or had to give something up to gain what they wanted. In the end, these Boss Ladies chose their life, and for that, I admire these dramas where women who work are appreciated and have a strong image, and it’s strongly celebrated and sends a positive message for the viewers.
